ZUNAMI ordered sawmill and pellet plant
The prestigious Ukrainian wood processing company Zunami Ltd, which is one of the leading manufacturers of oak top layer lamella for the parquet industry in Europe, is building a new softwood sawmill and a pellet plant in Lutsk (Western Ukraine).
SCANTEC Industrieanlagen GmbH has been mandated by Zunami Ltd to deliver and install both the sawmill and the pellet production plant. For SCANTEC this order is the first major project in Ukraine.
In the first expansion level the sawmill is designed for an annual processing of 120,000 cubic meter logs in a double shift operation. A “Quattro” reducer band saw with an automatic edger is going to be installed. SCANTEC is proud to deliver this plant as “turn-key”, which also includes the whole mechanization and the wood residue handling, as well as the electric control and automatization system. The pellet plant is designed for an annual production performance of 25,000 t and will be also delivered as “turn-key”. Beside brand new components, second hand equipment in mint condition will be integrated into the overall concept, due to economic efficiency reasons. Furthermore, SCANTEC is also responsible for the project planning, supply of the equipment, assembly, commissioning and the operator training. The commissioning is expected at the turn of the year 2015/2016.
